Helen Haeun Kim is an active flutist, her performances appeared on premier venues such as London’s Royal Albert Hall, BBC Radio 3 & 4, TBN UK, and Prague’s Církev československá husitská. Most recently, Ms. Kim had recitals in Morocco, Germany, France, and Czech Republic in 2019.
Ms. Kim currently works for Dallas Symphony Orchestra as a Teaching Artist and teaches flute at the Birdville High School in North Richland Hills. She has her own lesson studio in the DFW area. Prior to moving to North Texas, Ms. Kim was a flutist/piccoloist of the All Soul's Orchestra, London, UK, music teacher of the Alpha Academy, associate music director of the Fayetteville International Orchestra and music director of the Ark Community Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
As a young rising artist, Ms. Kim has won numerous competitions and auditions; Carolina Band Festival, Dallas Symphony Festival, Raleigh Area Flute Association Competitions, Raleigh Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition and many more. Ms. Kim has also appeared as a soloist with the Carolina Philharmonic and the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra.
After her secondary education at Northwood Temple Academy, Fayetteville, North Carolina, Ms. Kim studied flute performance under Tadeu Coelho and Nicolas Duchamp at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where obtained her Bachelor of Music and her further flute/piccolo studies were taken in London under William Bennett, Kate Hill and Patricia Morris at the Royal Academy of Music, University of London, where obtained her Master of Music.
